“Reikyu says it features "contemporary fusion," but what that means to us is damn fine sushi. It's a great place for people-watching--if the moon and stars align, you can see the yuppies in the Mock-Station lofts wandering about their chic pads in their underthingies.”

“In the categories of atmosphere, service and food (elements that can make or un-make a dining experience) Reikyu gets top honors. Planted among the urban bustle of Mockingbird Station, Reikyu's dark and cozy, second-level dining room offers a view rife with people-watching opportunities. And with a two-sided menu for the sushi alone, the friendly and helpful service keeps the ordering experience from being intimidating. More detailed descriptions of menu options helped us make some excellent choices–either that, or everything is top-notch. While appetizers and entrees are good, Reikyu's sushi really stands out. From the spider roll to the yellowtail, not one bite disappoints.”

“The staff with their impossibly hip gravity-defying hairstyles are just as cool as the patrons. On busy nights, Champagne bottles are popped (think Dom Perignon); saketinis are shaken and inventive sushi rolls such as Nine featuring a combination of nine ingredients including shrimp tempura, crabmeat and dijon mustard, are served. There's a full sushi and yakitori menu and fusion items like carparcio de Japon (seared sliced beef served with a spicy garlic soy vinaigrette).”

“The drinks menu is impressive with a list of reserve sakes like Kan No Mai, a dry premium unfiltered sake.”

“Not only do they have the best food, but they have stellar service as well. If you're unhappy with anything, they will do all they can to make you happy.”
